Ukrainian authorities have denounced Saturday a Russian shelling in the center of the capital, Kiev, with no known deaths or injuries so far.
The attack, reported the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, occurred in the Dniprovskyi (or Dnipro) district, on the left bank of the river that divides the capital into two halves.
«Explosions in the Dnipro district. All services are heading to the site – stay in shelters!», Klitschko has let it be known on his Telegram account.
The deputy adviser to the Ukrainian Presidency, Kirilo Timoshenko, has specified that the attack has been directed against «critical infrastructure facilities» at around 09.30 am (08.30, Spanish peninsular time).
«Details are being clarified,» the adviser added on his Telegram account.
Shortly after the message, authorities have issued an air alert for the capital and the homonymous region.
