At least six people have been killed, including a teenage mother and her six-month-old baby, in a shooting at a home in Gosen, in central California, on the west coast of the United States.
Local authorities received the tip at around 3.30 local time, stating that «the reporting party thought there was an active shooter in the area due to the amount of gunfire,» although detectives are searching for at least two suspects, CNN has reported.
Emergency services found two fatalities in the street, a third body in the building’s driveway, and three other victims in the home, including a male who later died at a hospital.
«Detectives believe there are at least two suspects and that this was not a random act of violence. It appears that this family was targeted and there are gang associations involved, as well as possible drug investigations,» explained Sheriff Mike Boudreaux.
Two of the victims, the 17-year-old mother and the baby, were reportedly shot in the head, according to CBS.
