A Greek Armed Forces pilot has died and another is missing after the F4 model fighter jet they were flying in crashed Monday in the waters of the Ionian Sea.
As detailed by the Greek Air Force, rescue efforts to find the whereabouts of the other pilot are still ongoing, as reported by the newspaper ‘Kathimerini’.
Two helicopters of the Greek Air Force, another one of the Navy and several vessels of the Coast Guard are involved in these rescue efforts, for which a C-130 military transport aircraft has also been deployed.
The fighter crashed while performing a low-flying training exercise together with another aircraft, which has been crucial in locating the crashed fighter.
