Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Jan on Monday demanded the immediate release of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) party members.
Fascism reaches unprecedented levels with the Islamabad Police raiding homes without a warrant to abduct PTI workers,» denounced the former head of government through his profile on the social network Twitter.
In this sense, Jan has denounced that, when these raids take place and PTI members are not found in the homes, the authorities »kidnap children up to ten years old».
We demand the immediate release of all our workers and their kidnapped children,» demanded the former prime minister, after days of clashes between his supporters and security forces following the arrest warrant for Jan, as well as the search of his home.
In the Toshakhana trial, Jan has been accused of concealing in his asset declarations details about some of the gifts he received during his time as prime minister between 2018 and 2022, when he was removed through a motion of no confidence in Parliament, in the beginning of an all-out battle between the former prime minister and the authorities now ruling the country.
