At least seven teachers were killed on Thursday after being shot at inside a high school located in the province of Jiber Pakhtunkhua, near the border with Afghanistan, although the motive of the attackers is not yet clear.
Police said the attackers stormed into a high school in Upper Kurram and opened fire on teachers in a room of the school, as reported by the Pakistani television channel Geo TV.
The incident took place hours after another teacher was shot dead while driving his vehicle in the same area, while six soldiers were killed in clashes with alleged members of the armed group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) – known as the Pakistani Taliban – also in Khiber Pakhtunkhua.
