NATO is coordinating closely with Poland to investigate a missile strike on its territory that has left two people dead in the border town of Przewodow, just a few kilometers from Ukraine.
A NATO spokesman confirmed to Europa Press that the organization is following the situation and is studying the information coming from Poland, in close coordination with Warsaw.
Polish media reported on Tuesday the death of two people in Przewodow, in the province of Lublin, after the possible impact of two stray rockets.
Russia’s neighbors Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have pointed the finger at Moscow for the incident in the border town and said that NATO territory must be defended from external attacks.
The episode comes on a day when Russia has launched a new wave of attacks on the western territory of Ukraine. Kiev, Lviv and many other cities have been the scene of Russian offensives, which have mainly targeted energy infrastructures.
