The mayor of Prague, Zdenek Hrib, has reported that the capital of the Czech Republic has already exceeded its capacity to receive Ukrainian migrants, and called on the national authorities to balance the distribution of refugees.

As detailed by Hrib on his profile on the social network Twitter, this conclusion stems from the meeting of the Prague Security Council, convened on Tuesday to address the current situation of Ukrainian migrants.

«The accommodation capacity for Ukrainian refugees in Prague has been exhausted,» the mayor of the Czech capital has asserted.

The meeting also served to prepare a roadmap for a possible «next wave of migration» from Ukraine on a day when Kiev and several other cities in the country were the target of a new wave of Russian attacks.

In this regard, Hrib called on the Czech authorities to establish a set of rules regarding the distribution of refugees in all regions of the country.

Recently, the Czech Republic’s Interior Minister Vit Rakusan has stressed that in the event of a new wave of migration from Ukraine, the Central European country could only take in a limited number of refugees.
