Ukrainian authorities on Tuesday raised to more than 430 the number of children killed since the beginning of the Russian invasion, unleashed on February 24 on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement that it has so far been able to verify the death of 431 children, before adding that 834 have been injured «as a result of the large-scale armed aggression on the part of Russia.

«The figures are not final, as work is underway to establish them at the sites of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied territories and in the liberated territories,» it said in a message on its Telegram account.

Thus, he has said that Donetsk oblast accumulates the highest number of victims, with 422 between dead and wounded. Behind are Kharkov region, with 264; Kiev region, with 116; Mikolaiv region, with 77; Zaporiyia region, with 70; Chernigov region, with 68; Lugansk and Kherson regions, with 64; and Dnipropetrovsk region, with 31.

Finally, he pointed out that 2,719 educational institutions have suffered material damage as a result of the attacks by the Russian forces, of which a total of 332 have been «completely destroyed», while he provided a web page and two telephone numbers to «give information on war crimes against children».

«‘Children of War’ is a platform where you can report and find all the information about the children who have suffered because of the war launched by Russia against Ukraine,» the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office has reiterated.
