Ukraine’s National Defense and Security Council (NSDC) has requested permission to access the site in the Polish town of Przewodow, near the border, where missiles, probably Ukrainian, fell on Tuesday, claiming the lives of two civilians.

«We are in favor of a joint study of the incident with the missile impact in Poland. We are ready to hand over evidence we have of the Russian trace,» NSDC Secretary Oleksei Danilov moved on his profile on the social network Twitter.

Although Ukraine and the Baltic countries first suggested that the missile was of Russian origin, Poland, the United States and NATO stressed that there was no evidence of such a claim and later pointed out that the missile was probably launched by Ukraine to shoot down Russian projectiles.

«We are waiting for information from our partners on the basis of which it has been concluded that it is a Ukrainian air defense missile,» added Danilov, who called for «immediate access» to the scene for Defense Ministry representatives and border agents.

Following the news of the explosion, Russia denied its responsibility for the incident and stressed that the missile fragments seen over the Polish town do not correspond to the weapons used by Moscow.
