The owner of the social network Twitter, Elon Musk, announced Saturday that he will reinstate the account of former U.S. President and current presidential candidate Donald Trump, after the poll launched by the entrepreneur closed with 51.8 percent in favor.
«The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei» Musk has written after the 24-hour deadline to respond to the poll that has had more than 15 million participants.
The owner of the platform said Friday that he had not yet decided whether to reinstate the account to the former leader, after which he decided to initiate a survey on the same social network open to all users.
This Saturday, Trump said he will not return to Twitter because he prefers to use the platform that he himself promoted, Trust Social, while pointing out the «serious problems» of Musk’s social network, including fake profiles.
However, the Republican politician said he was glad that it was Musk who took over the social network with a bird for an icon, since he tends to like «characters».
