At least one person has died and 16 others have been injured after an SUV crashed through the window of an Apple electronics store in the Massachusetts town of Hingham.
According to the district attorney, Tim Cruz, the car broke into the store at around 10.45 a.m. (local time), breaking the glass of the window and running over several customers inside the store.
For his part, the chief of Hingham Fire, Steve Murphy, has warned that several customers have even been trapped between the vehicle and the wall. Passers-by walking in the area have been helpful in providing first aid to the victims, reports CNN.
Authorities reported that the driver of the vehicle is now in police custody, although they did not elaborate on the details. Cruz, for his part, said that investigations are already underway and that for the moment no motivation has been ruled out.
