At least 38 people have been killed and two others injured after a fire broke out at a factory in Anyang, in central China’s Henan province, according to Chinese media.
The injured people have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
The fire started at around 4:22 p.m. on Monday and was brought under control at 8:00 p.m. local time. By midnight all open fire outbreaks at the scene had been extinguished, reports CCTV.
The Municipal Fire Detachment had dispatched a total of 63 vehicles and 240 officers to carry out firefighting and rescue operations, including logistical units for public safety, emergency response, municipal administration and power supply.
At the moment, the cause of the origin of the fire is unknown, although authorities have reported that the suspects related to the incident have been placed under police control, reports Xinhua news agency.
