Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky on Sunday warned Ukrainian citizens to prepare for the consequences of further Russian attacks, after he accused Russia of using cold against people.

«We understand that terrorists (Russian troops) are preparing new attacks. We know that for sure. And as long as they have missiles, unfortunately they will not stop,» Zelensky said in the video he records daily for the Ukrainian population.

«But our ability to help each other and take care of the most vulnerable, our mutual help is one of the elements of protection against terror, as well as our strength,» the leader encouraged.

In this regard, he once again called for unity among the citizens of the country, and urged the society to be attentive to the air alerts.

«Together and helping each other we will also overcome this challenge of war: this winter, this Russian attempt to use the cold against people,» said the Ukrainian president.

Zelensky made the remarks after this Sunday most regions of the country were able to restore the power supply that was damaged after Russian troops shelled energy infrastructure last week.

With these words, the Ukrainian leader adds to the accusations of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who said this weekend that Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to use winter as a weapon.

Stoltenberg again reminded «how dangerous» it is for the population «to depend on Russia for gas.» «Now we have to assess our dependence on authoritarian regimes, especially China,» he said.
