The Russian Armed Forces launched on Wednesday a missile attack on the headquarters of the Kherson City Hall, but Ukrainian authorities have not yet confirmed any casualties or injuries.
«At around 11:00 a.m. (local time), several rocket launchers hit the center of Kherson. The shells hit the Kherson administrative building. Two floors have been damaged,» the Presidency has reported, UNIAN reports.
This attack on the Kherson City Hall comes in the framework of a new Russian offensive against the city and after which the Ukrainian authorities have reported cuts in the heating supply in some of the districts of the town.
«Due to the Russian shelling, electric transformer and pumping stations (…) were damaged. Due to the high danger, repair crews cannot quickly eliminate the breakdowns in the heating network. Therefore, it is now impossible to ensure a supply,» the Kherson Governorate explained.
In mid-November the Ukrainian side confirmed the expulsion of Russian troops from Kherson and again unfurled the national flag in the center of the city. Following this, Moscow has intensified its offensive against this territory.
The liberation of Kherson was such an outstanding event that even the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, went to the town to celebrate the Ukrainian deed.
