The Mexican National Guard detected four human skulls this Friday in the shipping area of Queretaro International Airport that were headed to the United States, all of them after inspecting parcel companies using X-ray equipment.
«During inspections in parcel companies and by means of X-ray equipment, the National Guard detected at the Intercontinental Airport of Queretaro, four skulls apparently of human origin, wrapped in transparent plastic and aluminum foil, without sanitary registration,» Mexican authorities have detailed in a statement.
The discovery took place in one of the packages of a courier and parcel company, inside the Queretaro airport, where national guards, with prior authorization, were carrying out random checks in search of narcotics, firearms and foreign currency.
The National Guard agents selected various shipments and subjected them to an inspection with the help of an X-ray machine, detecting abnormal organic material in one of them, so they proceeded to carry out a manual search.
«The human remains, which came from the municipality of Apatzingán, Michoacán, and were destined for an address in the city of Manning, in the state of South Carolina, in the United States, did not have the documentation that would support their legal origin and transportation,» the National Guard said in its letter.
