Brazilian authorities have reported that 30 people have been arrested following the storming of the headquarters of the three branches of government by supporters of Jair Bolsonaro demanding a coup d’état.
The suspects are now awaiting a custody hearing to decide on their final detention, reports Brazilian television network O Globo.
The detainees are being held at the Civil Police of the Federal District, specifically at the Specialized Police Department, where more suspects are expected to arrive.
Most of them are being arrested under Article 359-M of the Penal Code, which foresees between 4 and 12 years of imprisonment for «attempt to overthrow a legitimately elected government».
