The President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, has cancelled the agenda of his second day of his official visit to Chile to supervise the works in the department of Cauca due to the landslide on the Pan-American highway, which has left dozens of families isolated.
The landslide took place on Monday, at kilometer 75 of that road, and at least 150 families have been affected in the villages of La Soledad, Santa Clara, Párraga Viejo and Chontaduro. Authorities have already evacuated several trapped people by air.
Petro had scheduled for this Tuesday several points in his agenda in Chile, among them a visit to the Supreme Court together with his counterpart Gabriel Boric, but sources of the Presidency have confirmed that he will return to Colombia to review together with his Government the situation in Cauca.
