German semiconductor company Infineon posted an attributable net profit of €728 million between November and December 2022 (first quarter of its fiscal year 2023), which translates into a 59.3 percent improvement over the positive balance of €457 million in the same quarter of fiscal year 2022.
In terms of revenues, these amounted to €3,951 million for the whole of last year, representing an increase of 25.1 percent compared with revenues of €3,159 million in the previous year.
«Infineon is staying the course amid choppy waters with a very profitable first quarter of fiscal 2023,» said Jochen Hanebeck, CEO of Infineon.
Hanebeck explained that the energy transition and electromobility are driving Infineon’s industrial and automotive sales. On the other hand, demand in the computer, data center and smartphone sectors has been sluggish.
Over the full financial year 2023, Infineon is forecasting revenues of €15.5 billion, with an estimated deviation of €0.5 billion. This would be equivalent to an increase compared to 2022 of 9 percent.
