At least seven people have been killed and four others seriously injured following an armed confrontation in the municipality of Caborca in the western Mexican state of Sonora.
Authorities have detained two people for their alleged involvement in the events, and eleven weapons and ten vehicles have been seized, as reported by newspaper ‘Milenio’.
However, security forces, including the police and the army, are maintaining an operation in the area following the incident, which includes several criminal groups.
Neighbors have reported that buildings have been hit by bullets, including businesses and homes, while several vehicles have been destroyed after being set on fire, as reported by newspaper ‘Excelsior’.
