At least three people have been killed and seven others injured in a drone attack on Wednesday on the Ukrainian town of Rzhishchiv, located in the Kiev region, according to Ukrainian authorities, who also said that five people are missing.
The head of the Kiev region police, Andriy Nebitov, has indicated in his Telegram account that the drones have hit »a residential building» and has detailed that »the first explosions took place around 3.00 a.m. (local time), followed by several more».
Police and emergency services evacuated more than 200 people,» he said, before pointing out that »part» of the building »has been almost completely destroyed». A fire has broken out,» he said, while asserting that the emergency services are working to respond to the situation.
In this sense, he denounced that »the enemy has again attacked civil infrastructure» and that »there are innocent people dead», among them »an ambulance driver who came to rescue citizens». It is another shameful war crime of the occupants», emphasized Nebitov.
Hours earlier, the governor of the Kiev region, Serhiy Popko, had assured that air defense systems had shot down »in the vicinity of Kiev» eight kamikaze drones launched by Russian forces. Moscow has so far not commented on the incident.
