Former U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized American Jews for «not doing the right thing for Israel» and voting Democratic in the recent midterm elections, in which Democrats have managed to retain control of the Senate.
«The United States and Israel are not only allies militarily, but also economically and politically. We are moral, cultural and spiritual allies and always will be, at least if it’s up to me,» Trump said Sunday at a Zionist Organization of America event.
«But you have people in this country who are Jews who are not doing the right thing for Israel. Too many of them. As you know, the Democrats got 75 percent of the vote and it’s hard to believe. We can’t let it go on like this,» he added, according to the Israeli daily ‘Yedioth Aharonoth’.
In addition, Trump has criticized the current president, Joe Biden, for his «servility with the Iranian dictatorship to re-enter the nuclear agreement» from which Trump decided to unilaterally exit in 2018.
«When you look at all these horrible things that happened during Biden’s and Barack Hussein Obama’s terms and then you look at the 75 percent vote? What the hell is going on here? But we’re going to change it,» he said, referring to the «big announcement» scheduled for this Tuesday that could be Trump’s own candidacy for the 2024 presidential election.
«Biden has appointed many anti-Israel leftist radicals to key positions in the government, including some who have supported the anti-Semitic boycott and divestment movement calling for economic war against the State of Israel,» he has lamented.
The Zionist Organization of America, which is celebrating its 125th year of existence, has awarded Trump with the Theodor Herzl Gold Medallion in recognition of his support for Israel and Jews, explained its president, David Schoen.
Schoen has cited the Abraham Accords and the relocation of the Israeli Embassy to Jerusalem as major achievements of the Trump Administration.
