Environmental activists have sprayed a painting by Gustav Klimt at the Leopold Museum in Vienna with black liquid to denounce that «new oil and gas wells are a death sentence for humanity.»
The action, claimed by the group Last Generation, which has uploaded the images to its social networks, has been aimed at the work ‘Death and Life’, which the organization wanted to use as a metaphor for its denunciation.
The images show museum staff holding the activists, one of whom reportedly tried to attach himself to the frame. The painting was protected by glass and, supposedly, was not damaged, according to initial reports on state television.
