Turkish military personnel have «neutralized» two suspected members of the Kurdish-Syrian People’s Protection Units (YPG) militias in northern Syria.

«We continue to bury terrorists attempting attacks in the trenches! Our Turkish Armed Forces have neutralized two PKK/YPG terrorists they detected in northern Syria. Our fight will continue with determination!» the Turkish Defense Ministry tweeted.

Ankara has assured that the two «terrorists» were preparing to carry out an attack, although it does not specify against what or whom, nor does it give any data on the location where the military operation took place.

Turkish authorities use the term «neutralized» to refer to the suspects having been killed, captured or handed over to authorities.

The Turkish operation, called ‘Sword Claw’ was launched after the November 13 attack in Istanbul, which left six dead and which Turkey blames on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

However, both the group and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in which the YPG participate have disassociated themselves from what happened and have expressed their condolences to the victims.
