Belarusian authorities announced Tuesday the start of a «training plan» to «maintain combat readiness and mobilization» within the Armed Forces, amid tensions over the Russian invasion of Ukraine, launched on February 24 on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Belarusian Defense Ministry spokeswoman Inna Gorbacheva has indicated that «the activities are carried out in line with the training plan following the call for military service and the development of an initial military training program by new recruits.»

Thus, she has stated that these tasks include «consecutive and complex trainings in all categories of military personnel, subdivisions, military units, formations, military command and control bodies,» the Belarusian Defense Ministry has noted in its Telegram account.

«The main objectives with maintain combat readiness and mobilization at the required level, increase the coherence of command and control bodies, improve the practical capabilities of commanders and train personnel to act in various conditions,» Gorbacheva has concluded.

The Belarusian Armed Forces have carried out several maneuvers in recent months in the framework of the war in Ukraine, which accuses Minsk of involvement in the conflict on Moscow’s side for allowing the use of its territory to maintain its operations and launch attacks against Ukraine.
