
The presidents of France and Ukraine, Emmanuel Macron and Volodimir Zelenski, held a telephone conversation on Sunday to finalize preparations for the International Conference in Paris that will begin next Tuesday, whose participants will discuss measures to be taken to protect the Ukrainian population from the Russian invasion during the winter.
«We have prepared the conferences that France is organizing on Tuesday,» Macron explained in a message posted on his Twitter account.
The first one, of international character, is joined by another bilateral forum France – Ukraine, co-presented by the «French companies that are involved in the reconstruction of the country».
For his part, Zelenski has confirmed discussions with Macron «the implementation of the plan for peace in Ukraine, defense cooperation and energy stability», who will intervene by video at the conference.
According to the Elysee, the conference will be attended by «heads of state, heads of government and ministers» from 47 countries, as well as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. Ukraine will be represented in person by the country’s Prime Minister, Denis Shmihal.
