The French Police Prefecture reported Thursday the arrest of 115 people in the Paris region, including 101 in Paris, following France’s victory over Morocco in the World Cup semifinal.

Several rallies have taken place on Wednesday night in the French capital after the end of the match between France and Morocco, in particular on the Champs Elysees, where more incidents have been recorded, police sources have reported to the BFMTV channel.

On the Champs Elysees, supporters of the French national soccer team have thrown fireworks at the French police officers, who have responded by firing tear gas and charging at the fans.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy died overnight after being hit by a hit-and-run driver in the city of Montpelier.

The young man was rushed to a nearby hospital after being hit by a car, and died shortly after being treated, the French prefecture of Hérault said in a statement.

The events allegedly took place when a group of people, presumably supporters of the Morocco national soccer team, were walking down the street and snatched the French flag hanging in the window of a car.

After that, the car has started a flight and has run over several people, including the minor, as can be seen in a video posted on social networks.
