Ukraine’s representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Yevhenii Tsimbalyuk, has praised the resistance shown by Ukrainians in the town of Bajmut as a sign of the country’s «indomitability».
«Today, Bajmut has become another symbol of Ukraine’s indomitability, in the context of Russia’s efforts to raze the city,» said Tsimbalyuk, who questioned Moscow’s «sacrifice of thousands of soldiers».
The Ukrainian representative said that the thousands of soldiers sent to the front line by the Russian President Vladimir Putin served only «to take a few kilometers around» the city of Bakhmut and that «they have no tactical or strategic importance».
«Despite the fact that the so-called three-day military campaign against the Ukrainian state has already turned into a strategic defeat and bankruptcy of the Russian regime, Moscow does not lose hope of turning the tide of the war,» Tsimbalyuk lamented, UNIAN reports.
The town of Bakhmut, located in the Donetsk region (east), has become one of the hottest spots in the conflict in Ukraine in recent days. The Kiev authorities have repeatedly detailed that it is in Bakhmut that Russia is now concentrating almost all its efforts in order to seize the town.
