The Ministers of Health, Justice and Agriculture of the new Peruvian Government have traveled to Ayacucho, the epicenter of the protests against the new Executive, to try to establish a channel of dialogue with the leaders of the demonstrators.
The Minister of Health, Rosa Gutiérrez, explained that they will supervise the transfer of three patients from the Regional Hospital of Ayacucho to Lima to receive specialized medical attention and for this purpose they are accompanied by health workers.
Guitiérrez has traveled to Ayacucho together with the Ministers of Justice, José Tello, and of Agriculture, Fabiola Muñoz, after the protests that have resulted in nine deaths in the last few days.
«We are going to establish a space for dialogue with our team and we want to bring the best and reach good agreements for the Ayacucho region», said Gutiérrez in statements reported by RPP radio station.
The Minister explained that upon her return from this trip she will inform the press about the agreements reached with the regional leaders to meet the needs of the population.
This trip is being made after a session of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in which «actions deployed to attend to the population» were evaluated.
At least four of the nine dead in the clashes that took place last Thursday in Ayacucho were buried on Saturday amid protests for the use of lethal force by the security forces.
