The Prime Minister of Peru, Pedro Angulo, has spoken out this Sunday after the announcement of his dismissal, defending that the President of the country, Dina Boluarte, is the one who makes the decisions of the holders of the ministerial portfolios.
«The president is the one who appoints us, who extends her confidence to us. She can take the measures she considers necessary because she will be aware that this is useful», he explained in declarations to RPP radio station.
«We are available, we know that our positions, by their nature, are not permanent. The positions are there as long as they are supported by the president,» he added.
Angulo assured that he is not clinging to the position of Prime Minister, however, he clarified that he has not talked to the head of state about this change in the cabinet.
«We have not talked about this issue, but we have talked about other matters in which we necessarily have to coordinate», he said in reference to the trips of ministers to the areas of the country where anti-government demonstrations are taking place.
