Tunisian President Kais Saied has announced the dismissal of Trade Minister Fadila al Rabhi, in what is the first dismissal since the constitution of the cabinet led by Prime Minister and close ally Najla Bouden in October 2021.
The announcement was published late last Friday on the Facebook page of the Tunisian Presidency, without giving further details.
The country is going through a tough economic crisis characterized in part by a shortage of supplies, as well as a rise in inflation.
In the same announcement, Saied also made public the dismissal of the governor of Sfax, in the east of the country, and usual point of migratory routes.
