The Attorney General’s Office of the Mexican state of Guerrero announced Thursday that two journalists kidnapped in late 2022 have been found alive, all while another media professional remains unaccounted for.

«Jesus ‘N’ and Fernando ‘N’ have been presented in good health, in the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Tierra Caliente, with due medical and psychological care,» the Public Ministry has detailed in a statement, detailing that the journalists had been deprived of their freedom last December 27 in a fenced municipality.

«It should be noted that this institution since it became aware of the disappearance deployed strong operations in coordination with personnel of the Mexican Army, National Guard and State Public Security Secretariat (SEDENA) in various parts of the Tierra Caliente region, which influenced the probable perpetrators to release to safeguard the life and integrity of these people,» reads the letter.

The Prosecutor’s Office has detailed that it continues with the investigations with SEDENA and the National Guard to find the location of Alan ‘N’, the third kidnapped journalist.

«The Attorney General’s Office reaffirms its commitment to the people of Guerrero in the search and location of missing persons,» the judicial body reiterated.
