Carlos Victor Carvalho, parliamentary advisor to the Bolsonarist deputy of Rio de Janeiro, Felippe Poubel, was arrested Thursday by the Federal Police (PF) accused of financing the transportation of Bolsonarists by bus during the assault on the seat of state powers in Brazil.
Victor Carvalho, former councilor candidate, was arrested by the Federal Police in the state of Espírito Santo, accused of financing «terrorist acts» in the framework of the assault on Congress, the Planalto Palace – presidential headquarters – and the headquarters of the Supreme Court.
The 34-year-old advisor manages profiles on social networks supporting former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro. The arrest comes in the framework of the so-called ‘Operation Ulysses’ against suspects of «organizing and financing coup acts».
As reported by the newspaper ‘O Globo’, Poubel’s office has communicated the exoneration of the position held by Carvalho as advisor after the arrest «so that he can have full right to defense in due process proceedings».
