U.S. President Joe Biden said Friday that Ukraine will receive «all the military assistance it needs» when asked whether Washington supports sending German-made battle tanks to Kiev.
These words come against the backdrop of recent tensions sparked by Germany’s refusal to approve such shipments. In fact, the Polish Foreign Minister, Zbigniew Rau, has sentenced on Twitter that Ukraine «is paying with blood» for the West’s doubts.
Meanwhile, in an attempt to supply armament of a different type, the Dutch Ministry of Defense has announced in a statement on Friday that it will send two Patriot system launchers to Ukraine within the framework of the meeting of the Contact Group countries.
Germany has also announced an additional aid package valued at 1 billion euros, bringing the total amount of military support to Ukraine since the beginning of the war to 3.3 billion euros.
