Tropical Cyclone Freddy has made landfall for the second time in Mozambique, this time affecting the city of Quelimane, in the center of the country, which has been left without electricity and telecommunications.
As reported by the World Food Program, the cyclone has returned to Mozambican territory this Saturday with winds of 148 kilometers per hour, adding that the agency is alert to respond in coordination with the Government.
The storm has affected houses, which have been damaged, as well as infrastructures, such as schools and health centers, according to Lusa news agency.
However, the authorities have not updated the cost of the damage, maintaining the information of one death registered during the weekend after a house collapsed due to the storm.
The death toll from the cyclone’s first passage through Mozambique – which had also passed through Madagascar – amounted to ten fatalities as a result of the adverse conditions over several days.
