The National Police of Ukraine has reported the discovery of a new mass grave with at least 17 bodies of civilians and soldiers in the Borova department in the east of the Kharkov region.
For the moment, forensic authorities have managed to recover three corpses, all of them servicemen, the Police has detailed in a statement published on its Telegram channel.
Residents of the area explained to the Ukrinform agency that the Russian troops «dug a hole up to three meters deep», where they threw the bodies and then levelled the ground again by driving tanks through the area.
«The Russians did not put any markings on the grave and did not allow the villagers to do so,» denounced the deputy chief investigator of the Kharkov National Police Department.
Ukrainian authorities have located mass graves in several towns after successfully driving out Russian troops. Among the most prominent are Bucha, on the outskirts of Kiev; Izium, where about 450 bodies have been found, or Mariupol.
