The outgoing president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, will have a position in his party (Liberal Party, PL) as an advisor when he leaves the presidency on January 1.
After reaching an agreement with the president of the party, Valdemar Costa, Bolsonaro has discussed his future once he leaves public office, since 1988 he has always won the elections he has run for, reported G1 channel.
In the PL, the still president of Brazil will act as a consultant, from which he hopes to organize an opposition to the winner of the second round of the elections of last October 30, Lula da Silva.
So far, Valdemar is considering renting a room in a group of buildings in downtown Brasilia to serve as an office for the president.
The progress of the negotiations with the PL around this position would have contributed to Bolsonaro’s statement on Tuesday, two days after the election, in which he signaled the beginning of the transition of government and in which he guaranteed compliance with the Constitution, according to the aforementioned channel.
