
Argentina’s Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has reappeared in public this Friday for the first time since the attack that took place in early September in which a man pointed a gun inches away from her face in the vicinity of her home.
The politician has participated as a guest at an event of the Unión Obrera Metalúrgica (UOM) in which she has claimed to the current president, Alberto Fernández, measures to alleviate inflation while defending her management at the head of the country and opting for her candidacy to develop the Frente de Todos in the 2019 elections.
«I had the responsibility as the most representative force after the 2017 elections to make a decision and for Peronism to win the elections,» he has defended during his intervention that has lasted more than an hour, as reported by Clarín.
She has also made reference to the aggression she suffered two months ago, to the thread of which she has affirmed that justice «they will not investigate anything because they want me as an accused, not as a victim», after which she has indicated that these are conclusions she has drawn during this time.
According to Télam agency, during the meeting, the vice-president was received by her followers shouting «Cristina president». In addition, the FdT deputy Eduardo Valdés stressed that «there is Cristina for reato» and highlighted the fact that she has chosen to reappear together with the workers «who are the ones she always wanted to represent and never betrayed».
In the same sense, Deputy Leopoldo Moreau (FdT) pointed out that in spite of everything that happened, if anyone thought that this was going to intimidate or cow her, they were wrong».
