The commander of Iran’s Border Guards, General Ahmad Ali Gudarzi, reported Monday the seizure of some 600 «weapons of war» in the last 45 days, coinciding with the wave of protests unleashed after the death in custody of a woman arrested in Tehran for not wearing a veil properly.
This figure represents an increase of 26 percent over the previous year, Gudarzi said, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA.
Gudarzi visited Iran’s southeastern border on Monday and blamed the recent protests on the United States and «the child-killing regime of Israel» and its agents inside Iran.
«Our Border Guard is a reinforced stronghold of the holy system of the Islamic Republic of Iran,» Gudarzi said.
