The U.S. authorities have not detected significant hacker activities that could jeopardize the reliability of the elections to be held this Tuesday, which will have, as the main epicenter, the total renewal of the House of Representatives and a third of the Senate.
A spokesman for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said Tuesday that «there continue to be no specific or credible threats that could jeopardize the infrastructure of the elections,» according to CNN.
The authorities only foresee minor cyber-attacks, which, although they may cause occasional blockages, will not prevent voters from exercising their right to vote throughout the day. «We remain very confident in the security of the elections,» said the spokesman.
The security of computer systems has become one of the key aspects in the preparations and development of electoral processes around the world, also in the United States, which in recent years has promoted sanctions against hacker groups linked to Russia or North Korea.
