
Italian parcel, courier and logistics company Poste Italiane closed the third quarter of 2022 with a net profit of €461 million, up 15 percent from the same period last year, according to quarterly accounts released Thursday by the company.
Revenues between July and September were 2.88 billion euros, up 4.3 percent. By business segment, the courier and parcels business contracted by 0.9 percent, while the financial services business had a turnover of 1.24 billion euros, down 3.6 percent.
On the other hand, the insurance business grew by 23.9 percent to 500 million euros, while the payments division advanced by 34.8 percent to 297 million euros.
The cost of products and services offered was 707 million euros in the quarter, up 4.7 percent, while personnel expenses were 1,254 million euros, up one percent.
The company highlighted that net operating income (EBIT) rose by 17.1% to 663 million euros. Between January and September it amounted to 2.1 billion, 27.2 percent more than in the same period last year and an all-time record for this period.
Thus, for the first nine months of 2022 as a whole, Poste Italiane’s net profit was 1.425 billion euros, up 21.4 percent. Revenues amounted to 8,745 million euros, up 3.6 percent.
