Russia’s Prosecutor’s Office on Friday declared the activities of the U.S. think tank Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars «undesirable» saying its activities «pose a threat» to the country’s security.
The agency has indicated that «based on the results of the study of the materials received (during the analysis of the case), the Prosecutor’s Office has determined that the organization’s activities «pose a threat to the pillars of Russia’s constitutional order and security.»
It also stressed that it has sent the corresponding information to the Ministry of Justice to include the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in the list of organizations whose activities are considered «undesirable», as reported by the Russian news agency TASS.
The think tank states on its website that «the Wilson Center, endorsed by Congress in 1968 as an official memorial to President Woodrow Wilson, is a nonpartisan forum that addresses global issues through independent research and open dialogue to inform applicable ideas for the policy community.»
