Russia’s Foreign Ministry has placed another 200 Canadian citizens on its ‘blacklist’, banning them from entering the country, in response to recent sanctions imposed from Ottawa.
Thus, the Russian diplomatic portfolio has detailed in a statement that this is its response to the recent Canadian sanctions against «Russian officials, military personnel, judges, law enforcement officers and public figures».
Among those sanctioned by Moscow are high-ranking officials, retired and serving parliamentarians, law enforcement officials and representatives of expert circles.
With these new 200 sanctioned, Moscow expands its ‘blacklist’ to more than 1,200 people banned from entering the country. These types of sanctions have become more than frequent since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine as a form of retaliation against Russia, which has used the same route to respond.
