A judge has rejected former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake’s claim of defeat in the election and upheld the election of Democrat Katie Hobbs as governor.
Lake sued local election officials to demand the annulment of the legislative elections in the state, where she was defeated in a hard blow to a career that had the personal support of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Specifically, Lake argued that intentional problems with the printers interfered in last November’s elections, causing him to lose votes.
Now, Maricopa County Judge Peter Thompson has ruled after a two-day trial that the former Republican candidate’s legal team has offered no evidence that the election was rigged against her, according to USA Today.
The former ‘trumpist’ candidate has announced, through a message on her Twitter profile, that she will appeal the judge’s decision «in the interest of restoring faith and honesty in the elections».
