The alleged perpetrator of Friday’s attack on a Kurdish center in Paris, which left three dead and three others wounded, has admitted to feeling a «pathological hatred of foreigners,» official sources said Sunday.
These same sources quoted by the newspaper ‘Le Monde’ have revealed that this person has declared before the Prosecutor’s Office that since 2016 «he had always wanted to kill foreigners» and that before opening fire that day he had planned to do it shortly before in the morning in Saint-Denis, in the heart of the French capital.
He finally ruled out going to Saint-Denis to kill «non-European foreigners» because there were «few people» at that time and because his clothes also «prevented him from reloading his weapon easily».
This person, who has described himself as «depressive» and «suicidal», has justified this «pathological hatred» of foreigners by a robbery he suffered in 2016 and that if he attacked the Kurdish community it was because in the fight against Islamic State they have made terrorists prisoners «instead of killing them».
Last Friday, the man, in his 70s, opened fire in a Kurdish cultural center in Paris, killing three people and wounding three others. Five of these victims are Turkish nationals and one is French, all of whom are known in the community for their political activism.
After being arrested, he was placed in a psychiatric center on Saturday as his state of health was «not compatible with the measure of police custody.» On the same day, rallies were held in Paris and other cities inside and outside France in rejection of this aggression.
