Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov urged Ukraine to accept his peace proposal «amicably» or refrain from having the Russian Army «deal with this issue».

«Russia’s proposals on demilitarization and denazification of Kiev-controlled lands and on elimination of security threats must be accepted in a ‘friendly manner’ or the Russian Army will deal with this issue,» the head of Russia’s diplomacy has asserted in an interview with TASS news agency.

According to Lavrov, Ukraine «is well aware» of Moscow’s proposals to end the war, which include among others «elimination of Russia’s security threats» allegedly coming from Ukrainian territory.

In addition, the Russian peace proposal calls for Russia to take control of its «new territories» in eastern Ukraine, which include Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporiyia. In referendums organized by the Kremlin in September, according to Russian data, 97 percent of voters supported annexation.

«There is little left to do: accept these proposals amicably. Otherwise, the Russian Army will deal with this issue,» Lavrov reiterated, as reported by the aforementioned agency.

LAVROV WARNS OF THE RISK OF A WAR BETWEEN NUCLEAR POWERS

The Russian Foreign Minister has affirmed that the West is aiming at «the total moderation of Russia», a fact he has described as «extremely dangerous» and which presents risks of a direct armed confrontation between nuclear powers.

According to Lavrov, the West is relentlessly exaggerating «with irresponsible speculation that Russia is allegedly on the verge of using nuclear weapons against Ukraine,» Tass reported.

«We are talking about absolutely different issues here: the West’s political course, which aims at total moderation of Russia, is extremely dangerous. It has downside risks of a direct armed clash of nuclear powers,» recounted the head of Russian diplomacy, who stressed that Moscow has been asserting «again and again» that there can be no winners in a nuclear war and that «it should never be unleashed.»

Lavrov has further denounced that the United States and NATO seek «a victory over Russia on the battlefield» as a mechanism to «weaken or even destroy our country.» «Our opponents will do everything possible to achieve this goal,» he has assessed.

«The actions of the West and its puppet (Ukrainian President Volodimir) Zelensky confirm the global nature of the Ukrainian crisis,» he has argued, while stressing that the beneficiary of the conflict is the United States. «Washington has been working on a geopolitical goal of breaking the traditional ties between Russia and Europe and making its European satellites even more dependent on it,» he explained.

«UNITED STATES PLANS TO ELIMINATE PUTIN»

Russia has reportedly accessed statements from «unidentified officials» at the U.S. Pentagon detailing U.S. government plans to inflict a «decapitation blow» on the Kremlin. Specifically, according to Lavrov, they are said to have spoken of the «physical elimination» of the Russian head of state, Vladimir Putin.

«Washington went further: there, some ‘unnamed officials’ in the Pentagon threatened, in fact, to inflict a ‘decapitation coup’ on the Kremlin, in fact, we are talking about the threat of the physical removal of the president of Russia. If someone really encourages such ideas, that someone should think very carefully about the possible consequences of such plans,» he reiterated, according to the agency.

Therefore, he reiterated that «holding a normal conversation with the Biden Administration, which declares the strategic defeat of Russia as one of its goals, is objectively impossible.» «Russian-American relations are in a truly deplorable state, given that they are almost at a standstill because of Washington,» he lamented.

«We have consistently explained to the Americans that it is not our style to disparage government-to-government relations. However, we act from a posture of reciprocity when it comes to building a dialogue. In other words, we act in line with the ‘eye for an eye’ principle, but not necessarily symmetrically,» he reiterated.
