Moldovan authorities reported Tuesday that they have closed five crossing points on the border with Ukraine in response to power outages due to Russian Army attacks.
The Border Guard has indicated on its Telegram account that «work has been suspended at five border crossings,» a move it has blamed on «power cuts on the Ukrainian side.»
Thus, he has asked drivers to choose alternative routes in case they have to cross the border or to refrain from traveling to Ukraine altogether. In total there are about 35 border checkpoints on the border between the two countries.
Another 21 checkpoints are located on the border between the Moldovan separatist region of Transnistria and Ukraine, although they have also suspended their functions after the outbreak of the war and at the request of the Ukrainian authorities.
