German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and her French counterpart Catherine Colonna will travel to Ethiopia on Thursday for a two-day visit to see first-hand the new peace agreement in the Tigray region.
During their trip, they plan to meet with Ethiopian President Sahlework Zewde, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen and Justice Minister Gedion Timothewos.
In addition to the implementation of the peace process, the European foreign ministers also plan to discuss security in Africa, according to the German agency dpa.
Baerbock and Colonna, who will hold talks with the chairman of the African Union as well, also plan to visit a UN World Food Program grain warehouse on the outskirts of the capital Addis Ababa, where grain supplied by Ukraine will be stored.
