Mexico’s National Migration Institute (INM) has reported the discovery of 250 irregular migrants who were crammed inside a trailer as it passed through the southern state of Chiapas.
Mexican authorities carried out the humanitarian rescue of the people, all foreign nationals, when the vehicle was traveling on the Chiapa de Corzo international highway, near Mexico’s border with Guatemala, according to a statement from the INM.
«With the support of the Mexican National Guard and authorities of the three levels of government, the INM of Chiapas has carried out the humanitarian rescue of around 250 foreigners who were traveling crammed inside a trailer on the Chiapa de Corzo international highway,» the letter states.
So far it has not been revealed where the migrants have been taken to, nor the exact details of their origins.
