The Government of Pakistan has called on Iran to investigate a cross-border attack on Wednesday that killed four security forces officers, with no claim of responsibility so far.
Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the attackers used Iranian territory to target a convoy patrolling the border in the Panjgur district of Balochistan.
He stressed that Islamabad expects Tehran to ensure that its territory is not used for such attacks and stressed that Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, according to Radio Pakistan.
The attack took place about a month after the death of four Iranian agents after a clash with unidentified gunmen in the province of Sistan and Balochistan, on the border with Pakistan.
Sistan and Balochistan province has been the scene of attacks by the Sunni militia Jaish al Adl, prompting Tehran to criticize Islamabad for not fighting the group hard.
