A Dubai Civil Defense spokesman has reported a fire in a residential building in the Al Ras area of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, that has left 16 dead and nine injured.
The notification of the fire arrived at 12:35 a.m. (local time) on Saturday and the first Civil Defense team arrived six minutes later and began the work of clearing and extinguishing the fire, as reported by Gulf News.
Initial investigations point to the lack of compliance with safety and security requirements of the building as the cause of the fire, but authorities will continue with the analysis to know the exact reasons.
